HERITAGE AND PLACES TO VISIT - JARNAC  Birthplace of François MITTERRAND JARNAC Phone : +33 (0) 5 45 81 38 88 http://www.musee-francois-mitterrand.com Native house - 22 Rue Abel Guy François Mitterrand was born here on October 26, 1916 and lived here for all of his childhood. Visitors can access parts of the ground floor and experience the framework of life which marked and accompanied François Mitterrand's early years. An exhibition of photographs and old documents, installed by the François Mitterrand Institute enable visitors to gain a better understanding of the Mitteranf family and the formative years of the President.
Museum François Mitterrand - 10 Quai de l'Orangerie Two exhibitions to be visited :
- a collection of objects, sculptures, drawings, offered to
the President by personalities of the whole world
- another exhibition wich includes information and models to give visitors an understanding of the great operations of architecture and town planning wanted by François MITTERRAND from 1981 to 1995 and realised by famous international architects, a video space and desks of information.

 The Church of Saint Pierre JARNAC Built mainly in XIIIth century and altered over the centuries, it knew to preserve its XIIIth century crypt (accessible), and a German organ from the end of the 19th century, bought in 1900 by the town and the parish of Jarnac. Free access according to opening times. |

The Temple JARNAC 18, rue Abel Guy In 1761 The Protestants built their "House of Prayer" here, opening on to the alleyway. The present Temple was built in 1821 by Paul Abadie (the Elder) from plans drawn up by François-Nicolas Pineau. proposed to you. This course proposes the monumental works carried out during the various Symposiums of sculptures on stone of Julienne. This route could be declined around varied and multiple themes: walks, excursions equestrian, pedestrian, VTT, tourist rallys, theatre, archaeological inheritance. This route of the Sculptures leaves one free to discover each work in its characteristics, the plastic languages artists of generations and different nationalities.
